Here at Beyond a diet, our aim is to purse a healthy sensible lifestyle. This normally involves three areas: Eating habits, lifting/exercising habits and sleeping habits. Guess how the game works?

I used to be the type of guy that would hit gym, one area,  (view it like a piece of pie) only to consider the battle done. I was great at mastering one area, (weight lifting) while neglecting the rest. Sound familiar? I know, you keep telling your friends they need “to get it together.”

During college, both my eating and sleeping habits were poor, or nonexistent! I didn’t have healthy habits or discipline in these other areas.

Simply put, “no sleep equals no recovery which equals no growth or change.”

WOW! unreal, how is this possible? Just kidding, I’m really not surprised. I find it interesting to note how much Americans spend on equipment of various sorts, and the percentage of Americans that are still considered obese. Wait a minute, so the answer is not buying or spending more money? But I thought money could help to solve all our problems?

Got my drift? Anyhow, view the article [here]

Lack of sleep is something I struggle with. I spend a heap of time at night posting a promoting my blog that I usually only get about 6 hours sleep or less. Which I know is terrible.

Tom

I understand, sleeping is an area we all continue to struggle with. When I first started my personal site “miguelpineiro.net,” I was dumping tons of time and energy into the development and promotion of the site. I lost much needed sleep.

here’s a tip! During college I realized if I got the sleep I needed, I could perform better because my focus, energy and so on. Sometimes it wise to call it a night, get some sleep, and get after it in the morning.
